History
​Our Piqua Council began on February 26, 1906 as Council 1094.
​
Our first officers included:

At that time, we rented the G.A.R Hall on North Main St. for council meetings. Later, club rooms wer secured at the Piqua Daily Call building where meetings and other gathering were held. A steady growth of the Council has brought the membership to 200 and another class of approximately 60 is to be added in the near future.
The K of C Club House on North Wayne St. formerly the Joshua Shipley home, was purchased by the Council and is most comfortably equipped. Louis G. Peffer sered as K of C secretary at Camp Sheridan.
Auhust S. Clouse served in the Air Service division at Dayton, Ohio, having been granted leave of absence from his duties as assistant cashier at Piqua National Bank Present plans of the Council include the building of an auditorium on the presesis of the current K of C cluib house and the work will begin in the spring of 1920.

Our local council is named after the Irish-born Cincinnati Archbishop John T. McNicholas. (1877-1950)

The original Piqua Council 1094 was shut down due to economic conditions​ brought on by the Great Depression of the 1930s.
​
In 1950, the Piqua K of C Council was reorganized and-rechristened as Council 3344...we were located in a house next door to Brel-Aire Bowling Lanes (with an added-on fellowship hall...now razed) and moved to it's current location in 1970 on West Ash St.
​

About our webmaster Jim Linthicum who authored this site:

I was born in 1953 and raised on a small farm east of Swanders near Anna in rural Shelby County. I am a 1973 graduate of Lehman Catholic High School where I was active in band, modern media. Library Club and 4-H.
​
I have been a knight since joining in 2011 with my first degree and receiving my second and third degree in 2012. I am a member of the Piqua Ultreya, part of the Cursillo movement and a parishioner at St. Mary Church where I'm a member of its handbell choir in addition to being pilgrim at the Maria Stein Shrine of the Holy Relics and the Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation located in Carey, Ohio.

I am married to my wife Kimberly (since 1982) and we have three sons.
Retired from Wappoo Wood Products Inc. located at Kirkwood between Sidney and Piqua founded in 1980 by Thom Baker, the son of C. Oscar Baker who (with Richard Hunt) co-founded WPTW Radio in 1948 and was a long time Piqua Knight.

I am a volunteer announcer and audio production man for:
Radio Maria USA-locally as 88.7 WHJM-FM Anna (with a local studio in Minster) and 1600 WULM-AM Springfield (with a local studio in the Fr. Boyle Center next to St. Bernard Church near downtown Springfield) which is also heard in the Dayton area on an FM translator simulcast on 103.3 in Enon.

Holy Family Radio-An EWTN affilliate based at WJTA, at 88.9 FM from its studio located in Glandorf west of Ottawa, Ohio and transmiiting from a rural location near Leipsic....and is simulcast from Ada at 94.9 WOHA for the Lima and surrounding area.
​
In addition, I am a volunteer for 93.5 WRPO-LP in Russells Point serving neighboring Bellefontaine and nearby Logan County communities where I produce the weekly Saturday morning show "Blues On The Lake" from my home studio here in Piqua.
